QED to Establish an Operations Base on UK's South Coast

news-details

QED is currently securing its site and EU TIGER Project Operations Base on the UK’s south coast, with final announcements to be made in the coming weeks.

With its own Tidal Test Centre at Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight and part in the EU’s ambitious €45.4m Interreg Tiger Project, QED is establishing a mainland operations base to accommodate its current work requirements. In securing sites, and with its specific requirements, QED sees the South Coast as pivotal to its future plans for expansion and development with access to great resources, skills, and in terms of projects – The Solent has been a traditional stronghold of the maritime industries ever since Tudor times. There is access to major tidal markets such as the Isle of Wight, The Channel Islands, and France. QED has already been busy looking at key sites in these areas and is in early stage discussions after completing feasibility studies for project developers, island communities, and industrial loads.

With the UK Government’s recent AR4 funding announcements and the looming AR5 round, QED is positioning itself with sites and pipelines to maximise what is ultimately a £76Bn global market.
